Any preferences for hardwearing floor paint? Have a concrete floor, thought it was about time I tidied it up prior to painting my car in the summer.

I went for PPG's Ammerock 2K. It's not cheap and is regarded as a Commercial Grade covering. Our Tech Collages use it.

Given the upheaval of moving everything out of the way, cleaning, acid washing, letting that dry etc, I only wanted to do it once if I could get away with it.

It's been down 12 years now and when washed, looks as good as the day it was laid. It's non-slip when dry and reasonably non slip when wet. It's not affected by oil or brake fluid. I gotta say, I haven't looked back.

I use johnstones paint for all my work. I have found it always does what it says on the side of the tin no matter how bizarre. Flortred in any colour you want.

If hard wearing is needed then I'd say that you need to be looking at 2k or epoxy products.

I painted my bay at a previous employers in a 2k product and 4 years later it still looks really good with hardly any wear.

The next bay along was painted in a cheap and cheerful floor paint and didnt last 6 months before it looked awful .

Saying that i think alot of the devil is in the detail (preparation)as they say!

I used the stuff they have in Aldi, its been ok on the areas that I prepped properly.   Should have been over the whole floor with a grinder to take all the loose bits off.

Next time its empty maybe!!
