Hi all
I am in the middle of a mini build and need to make a decision on stereo. The car is an 80s saloon that has been modified in the style of a mk1/mk2 (dash, grille, rear lights etc). I had planned to fit a stereo like this.... Attached File  0A67E94D-8EA4-4096-9CCA-CA1E4201446A.jpeg   33.29K   6 downloads
But the question I am stuck on is speakers. I don’t want or need a massive stereo install just something that I can hear (with a little bass) whilst driving and turn up when needed without mega distortion, what do you think? I’m not sold on the look of under seat boards but should I go full hidden speakers or do something like modify some of those old school pods with more modern drivers. Anyone got any thoughts?

Don’t know if these are any good for you. I am thinking of fitting them in conjunction with a retro head unit although not in a mini 233390682565

Thanks, They look pretty good although I think I might need some mid range ones as well. Also not sure if they look a little too modern.

I have some of these pods in the footwell which look quite 80s.  Sound quality is reasonable, mainly lacking much bass output.

You could do a board under the rear seats, but mount the speakers on the rear of it,and cover it with acoustic cloth over the front so it just looks like carpet.
