Starting My Mini Up

Hi there - just a quick one
looking to drop down to 10" wheels sometime in the future (currently 12")
it needs new disks & pads anyway so would it be okay to get the brakes swapped over now to 7.5" & still run with the 12" wheels till the summer?
the car is only used for a short city commute & is a '96 SPI

Yes. It's only a problem the other way round due to the wheels not fitting over the brakes.
