Hi, I bought a 95 spi (jdm) last fall and noticed that the clutch was engaging right at the floor. Since then I have bleed the system as well as removed clutch pedal and fixed the wear where the clevis pin connects it to the clutch master to take up the slop at the top of the pedal travel. Clutch seems good when engaged with no slip.

Problem now is that with engine on and pedal fully depressed, can’t select gears without grinding. Checked the adjustment on the end of wok and with clutch disengaged approx 6.5 mm clearance and when depressed about 1-2mm clearance.

Did a search here but was not able to find anything specific to this. Any advice would be appreciated

In case you are interested it was a rookie mistake. When reinserting the Clevis pin into the clutch pedal I put it in the wrong way around. Then after adding extra washers to fill the gap I put the split pin back in.

What was happening was that with all these washers the pedal pin would bind against the side of the pedal box stopping the pedal from going all the way to the floor. Once changed I got a longer stroke.

Solved.
