I'm converting my Mini to electric and I'm at the point where I need to position the Nissan Leaf motor in the subframe...Basically, I'm trying to figure out where the stock Mini axle output center is relative to the towers (as those should be the same from the stock subframe to my subframe, which uses Allspead towers—I hope). The big wild card is the vertical measurement, since the horizontal measurement is "as far back as you can go without hitting the chassis."

I failed to measure and photograph this stuff before I took the car apart. I'm wondering if someone might be able to post a photo of where the axles come out of the subframe? I'm looking for stock ride height and what not. I'd also be delighted to have some measurements of the engine output relative to the subframe towers, but that seems like a bigger pain...

Basically this shot, but as dead-on as is practical:

Well fit the rebound rubber to the subframe and you will have the standard top arm position.

sorted.

How does the standard top arm position lead me to the vertical position of the axle output center relative to the subframe towers...?
