Hope that everyone is keeping safe and well

Can anyone recommend a garage that will offer a turnkey solution for the Rover K engine conversion?

Have already tried around 20 garages with only 2 expressing an interest in looking at this but neither have done the engine conversion before

I want to drop off the mini and collect again a month or so later with everything done. 1.8vvc engine added, balanced, car weighting and tracking finished and a fresh MOT certificate . ( will also have a complete interior done but this one is easier to find)

Garage will need to source donor car -- or engine and all the parts and fit these

I have spent around 30 hours looking through various threads - got a few leads towards garages but all these since seem to have closed down

Would prefer in the Midlands / Warwickshire area but also willing to look farther afield if I can get the right garage

I will also post over in the 16Vforum

Hopefully there will be a few out there that will be able to do a bit of work on this during the lockdown period if they normally work alone or from home

Thanks all for your help

That is a pretty big ask.

You'd stand more chance if you had already found the engine.

Did you try Coventry Classic Minis in Shilton? I'm sure I remember dropping my Mini off there once and he was doing a conversion then

Hi guys

I think that finding the engine should be pretty straight forward -- plenty of running MGF's on sale on eBay / auto trader etc and willing to buy the complete car if the price was right so that it would include gear box, some wiring and the ECU. There are also a number of 16V vvc engines for sale.

Timeline -- I am not sure about this , I know a lot of these conversions have taken months (years) but these tend to have been guys working from home garages on the evenings and weekends , I am hoping that a dedicated garage would be quicker but I guess it takes as long as it takes.

I did try Cov minis around a month ago ( they are still advertising in one of the magazines). Not sure what is happening here but no answer to phone calls and emails and when I drove to the garage to have a look it was under a different ownership/name.

Yes please -- I can at least check this out -- bit far to go but nothing a flatbed couldn't handle

Cheers

Are you on Facebook? That's probably the best way to get in touch with him
