Good evening, everyone.

I’ve come up with something that I hope will help many of us with “Cabin Fever” and of not being out there having fun competing, or just driving our minis with friends.

Hell, we should be watching Goodwood this weekend!

Rally driver and eWRC 2018 champion Jon Armstrong, who should be competing in the Junior WRC at the moment, gave me an idea  when he set up an event this week on Dirt Rally 2.0 for his followers to all compete in.

So, with the government now talking about extending the lockdown until June, I have set up a Dirt Rally 2.0 club, in which I have created a Championship for the Classic Mini’s in the game’s H1 class called ClassicMiniCup.

The Classic Mini Cup Championship (Sprint or Rally) will be live for 5 days (available 24 hrs a day) to give people plenty of time to compete and fit it conveniently into their daily locked down lives, and regardless of the time Zone you live in (as the classic mini communities span the globe).

First event starts tomorrow (30th March, 2020).
Search for “classicminicup” in the “Find a club” option after you’ve registered for an account, and request to join. I Recommend using forum name so people can easily identify each other.

If people are enjoying the events, I’ll put up fresh events each week during the pandemic lockdown.

So why am I suggesting we use Dirt Rally? My main reasons are:

It can run across platforms: PC (Steam & Windows Store), Xbox (including being on the game pass) and PS4.
The graphics are amazing, and I have played a number of online games; even when you crash the level of detail is impressive!
There are 7 Different driving points of view (PoV).
Your car can be configured to set various things such as: alignment, suspension, brakes, gearing, etc. There’s even four different tyre options on offer.
You can customise the looks of your car. Currently, there are 15 different liveries.
Pricing starts at less than £10 for the “steam” edition with their current 60% discount, and if you do like it, the Game of the Year edition is £22.49, discounted currently by 50%, and that includes 1-4 season passes.

First Up we have a Sprint /Rally Style Championship consisting of 3 Tarmac & 3 Gravel rounds, Spain, USA, NewZealand

The 2nd championship will be a Rally one using different locations for each round.

Unsure? Why not give the free trial a go by visiting: https://dirtrally2.com/free-trial

by the way: the club banner picture is not of a mini but it wasn’t an option that I could change. I have messaged them to add that as a feature. In the meantime the image of the legend that is Petter Solberg will have to do!

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Even better when you have selected your livery and car number post it below.
