Some genius before my ownership has dented both front floor pans. It's not bad at all (I've seen much worse, some people should never be within 10 yards of a trolley Jack). But I want it perfect.

What do we reckon? Tw@t it with a mallet from the inside?

Basically yes, just support the underside where it's not damaged around the area that you want to correct. Suitable wooden blocks will offer plenty of support.

Pretty much exactly that. I've had some before jacked up square in the centre of the floor. Popped back with a carefully placed "Stomp".
