Got a bit of a problem on the Midas Project - I have an RC40 that I am going to modify to fit; however my front pipe does not fit the Y-piece I have. It would probably go together if hammered but I would really rather not do that. I have measured the inside diameter of the Y-piece and the outside diameter of the RC40 and they're nigh on identical. 0.11mm is not a lot of difference!!

I notice that the Y-piece on the Mini Spares website has two slots cut into the the end, and mine does not. I am guessing that I need a different Y-piece. The LCB is a Maniflow version (lightly used) I got from eBay but I am pretty sure the Y-piece came from elsewhere.

Any suggestions to sorting it? I'd rather not buy another one but...

Are self-made slots my solution?

Try sanding down outside of rc40 pipe ,should be able to make it slide into lcb,and cut a slot or two ?

i'd have thought you'll need a couple of slots in the end of the y-piece anyway to allow clamps to compress and grip the front pipe

Have you shortened the RC40 as it needs it to fit on a LCB.
And def slot the output of the Y piece so that it can clamp down onto the RC40

The Midas is longer than a Mini so I doubt that'll need doing  :mrcool:

Thanks for your help everybody - I shall get modifying!

It is angled at the end though, so may not line up

So the problem is that the fit is too sloppy not that they don’t fit.

find tube that Fit between?

get a pipe expander you might just flare it enough.

dont cut the slots too far.
