I am about to start a full restoration and have already got a load of panels on order. then I realised I am almost out of Argonshield. I tried calling my local BOC depot this afternoon, but there was no answer.

Does anyone know whether BOC are open for business and will do deliveries at present. I can't go anywhere because my wife is in the 'Highly Vulnerable' category, but I guess I could get a friend to collect for me if they can't deliver.

We use BOC and have been getting weekly deliveries the last few weeks.

Have a look at Adams Gas. Far cheaper than BOC where I am and you can get delivery.

Thanks Tomm.

I'll call their head office web-site number tomorrow.

I've had a BOC on-going contract for many years now, although I guess I could cancel it soon.

Adams gas or hobby weld are cheaper alternatives as you only pay a bottle deposit once the first time and there is no contract.

Once you don't need gas anymore, you return the bottle and get back your deposit.

Only issue now I suppose is that the stockists for those tend to be builders merchants and I expect they are only open to trade customers for the time being.

I have a y bottle on hobby use from boc, also a hobbyweld cylinder, if you are using more than 2 hobbyweld cylinders a year then the boc deal works out cheaper, about £50 a year rental and 3 x gas of hobbyweld for about same refill cost. I think a lot of places as mentioned above are currently open for trade only,

If your replaci g so many panels i would go with a spot welder as they were from factory rather thN a mig welder.

Spot welder is expensive but for how many welds you will need I would say more beneficial.

Also a hell of a lot neater and easier..less holes burnt, less talent needed..

I have arranged to get some gas on Friday. A friend and fellow Mini-enthusiast is almost passing the BOC depot and will collect a cylinder for me on my account.
