Hi,

Can anyone advise on tuning an automatic mini?

Is it more difficult because of AP transmission?

Could anyone recommend resources parts etc.

What centre exit exhaust would you recommend?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd say that tuning by a conservative amount would be the same as a manual.  Beyond this you'll run into either the torque limit of the gearbox or problems with the gear change points.

 

Don't move the torque peak too far up the rev range by using a wild cam and large bore induction and exhaust systems.  With a manual you can just hold the revs higher by keeping in a lower gear but with an auto box unless you always manually select it's going to keep changing up on light throttle and dropping you out of the power band.  Of course if you don't mind always manually selecting then this won't matter but if that's the case you're better off with a manual anyway if you're physically able to use a clutch.
