Are these kits reliable, easy to fit and what do the switches look like that cover the winder hole. I already have the holes in the door and the A pillar as my 1275gt had W&P 1/4 lite and smaller glass door set up that was electric but not salvageable and I'd like to take it back to electric windows.

I have the ones that use the winder mechanism and have been a bit disappointed with it to be fair. The windows go up and down so it does what it says on the tin but it is far from refined. I probably needed new wonder mechanisms. They were from a-series spares and was a doddle to fit. In hindsight I should have saved a bit more money and bought the Wood and Pickett kit.

The switches are very simple black rocker switches and mine are back lit with a green light as soon as the ignition is turned on.

I'm seriously thinking of fitting the kit that has its own lifter mechanism rather than the drive ring that goes around the window winder  but it would be on an MPI and the door crash bars would make it difficult.  I'd love to see pictures of how anyone else has managed it.

I think the wood and picket kit is just the Moss Europe one repackaged.

Also, on the American retro modding scene, they use window switched that use the original window winder handle.  I would love that but they're very expensive and the postage fro the US of A is a total rip off!!

Anyone know a UK / Europe supplier for Autolock stuff??

I saw the autolock when it first came out and built one using a household sprung door latch and a two microswitches and relays. It worked fine, but because it looked like the original window winder inside, people would use massive force to wind the window down and break it. After the second replacement I put a note on the passenger door. Saying, "Be gentle with me." When this didn't work I went back to normal switches.

The kit from Mini Spares that replaces the complete mechanism is brilliant. I’ve fitted two of their kits and the motors are nice a quick.

The only think that isn’t great are the pods that the switches mount to but I think they’re just universal kit pieces.

Tupers
The moss kit switches cover the winder hole and looks the same as the Minispares kit does that have the switches that cover the hole?
I don't suppose you have a picture of the switches in place?

No I don’t sorry. It was probably 5 years ago now but it sounds like the same switch arrangement.

There wasn’t anything overty bad about them they just looked a bit odd on a flat door card.
I would have liked to make new door cards and move the switches into the door pockets for neatness but the customer didn’t have room in their budget.
