Hi I have just purchased a 1989 mini with a 998cc engine fitted, I am fairly new to mini’s so bare with me on the tech details please. The engine is running but very loud. Previous owner has said he believe it has bent a push rod on cylinder 1. My question is if I am going to replace this pushrod( if this is even the fault??) should I replace all the rods in the engine? And anything else I should do while doing so?
Cheers in advance for putting up with my naivety.

Well first I would be inspecting the two pushrods. I would be surprised if one is bent.

You can replace which ever one(s) is bent, but if that is the issue, you'd want to find out why it / they bent before just fitting replacement pushrod(s).

Might be worth checking clearances first. One may just be tight or loose.
