Hello

I took off the air-bag block on the steering wheel to see if the connection is good, I changed the steering wheel thinking it was the buttons on the steering wheel that didn't work, I changed the horn, I put a tester on the wire and I pressed it with sound.

the wire finally the wires from the steering wheel are linked to other wires to go to the horn or not? well in the fuse box I guess the horn is connected with some accessories but which ones?

thanks

Keeping it simple, If you connect a volt meter to the inputs to the horn (disconnect them from the horn first) and push the horn button. Do you get a reading? If so, what?

Does the horn work if you purposely set off the alarm?

Mine did, but wouldn't work on the button. Turned out to be the rotary coupling. I didn't replace it. I simply moved the pins in the input and output connector to utilise a different unused path in the coupler.

The rotary coupling can break, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s expensive from the mini specialists, mgf ones fit fine, just like the stalks.

Good morning,

Thank you,

I did not know that the alarm used the horn, it is true that I never heard it ring, so I will test it after noon and I will tell you.

However, about the alarm I saw this week that the hood switch was not connected, there is a risk that it will go off by itself?

If I understand how the hood switch works, is it a ground wire?

I believe the switch is open circuit when the bonnet is shut. So it shouldn't matter if it's not connected.

The fuse is B6 20amp and also powers the Alarm ECU and the diagnostic socket.

Good evening,

I'm sorry I'm only answering now, but I didn't get a chance to see the Mini...

so I thank you thanks to you I heard the nice sound of my horn while activating the alarm :)

So could you advise me what I should look at now keep in mind that I suck at electricity and + am French so I suck at technical translation.
