Right, after a fruitless afternoon trying to achieve reasonable door gaps on the pickup I’m starting to wonder if I’ve made a error somewhere when I did the A pillars.

Could some kind soul with an external hinge shell please measure the internal door gap for me from A to B post roughly in line with the hinges please ?

Thanks in advance ..........

measured across the opposing faces of the door shut, I make it 34.75" at the top hinge and 35" at the bottom (just under the check strap)

How bad are the gaps? The usual trick is to weld a welding rod on to make the gaps smaller or slit the body with a thin disc and weld back up to make them better.

It's worth looking at pictures on line to see what others are like as they weren't intended to be that good originally.

Also remember that bad gaps stand out more on a light coloured car than a dark one.

Many thanks for that, looks like my gap at the bottom is correct, but I’m about  0.5” too wide at the top.

It’s miles out, the gaps so big at the back of the door that the latch only just catches and the little plastic guide block on the door is only just inside the metal cup on the door frame, and that’s with slotting the hinge mounts a bit to move the door back till the gap at the front is on the large side.
Time for a bit of a rethink, or to shut the garage door for the next six months ..........

Can you take some pictures and post them up so we can see what it looks like? How wide is your aperture compared to the measurements above?

Worst case you could cut the door in half top to bottom and widen it.
