So im needing a little advice on best / correct type shell bearings that should be fitted into A+ metro turbo engine? I have taken some pictures of what is currently in. The questions are -

Are these correct?

What clearance should they have?

Are these oil groves correct? Read some info that they should not have oil grove in turbo??

What type are proven / preferred for turbo use? [I am not building a rocket. Its a tame almost standard engine]

any advice welcome

Leyland swapped to thenn grooved bearings when they introduced the metro turbo, supposedly the non grooved bearing has 80% more load carrying capability according to dave vizard.

I would say that if your not building anything too mad then either bearing type would be ok,but if your replacing them then fit the non grooved ones.

In terms of clearance, I am for 1 thou clearanse per inch if diameter, so 2 thou on yhe main and 1.75 on the big ends
