im going to attempt changing a wheel bearing in a min. once the balljoints, calliper, track rod end and hub nut are undone, will the hub come off easily? or will i need to use force? i know about making sure the face of both bearings needs to be flush to one another. i have looked in haynes but it dont cover the bearings. im sure this will end up being a whole weekender lol

make sure you loosen the hub nut with the calipers and pads still on.. as its much easyier to stop the nut spining if someone else has there foot on the brake pedal ( took ages to work that one out!!) :o

then the hub should come straight of once every thing else is detached...

150lbft is pretty much the point at which it wont go up anymore anyway!... don't forget to put the split pin through too.

Do you need drifts to do these bearings? If so where can you get them from?

40 ft Ilbs, I only do old money--if you over tighten them, when you next undo them, you risk damaging the thread :genius:

A quality centre punch used either side on the outer race, bit at a time will get them out. machine mart/Halfords will sell a set of them. Avoid scoring the hub.
