Checking over my engine and I have new big end bearings fitted (I think) now trying to identify them. These are stamped 65905 RA. This when searched brings up AEB 4484. As I know nothing about these bearings can anyone advise the quality of this type of bearing. They are to be used in metro turbo engine.

Hi,

A quick google on AEB4484 comes up with these bearings being Manufactured by AE who are a recognised manufacturer of several engine components such as pistons (trade name is Hepolite for these).

Application is for a 1.3 Metro according to FW Thornton’s website

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Steve.

Thanks for the info on these. Unfortunately i found a raised point in the centre of one of them. looks like a piece of swarf was clamped in when tightened. So they are scrap. Be ordering some new ones tomorrow..
