Hi All,

I have a small trailer which runs on 10" mini wheels, its been sat in my garage for a while with a bit of weight it in (my air compressor and some tools) and I went to move it today and noticed one of the tyres had gone flat.

I tried to pump it up but it has a massive 1" split in the side of it and its clearly perished.  There were a few minor cracks on the tyre but nothing that would indicate massive imminent failure.

Aside from being a reminder that trailer tyres don't last for ever I was wondering how old this tyre might be as it has no date code on it.  Its a 145/10 India GT tyre, externally it looked ok and when I popped it off the rim the inside looked perfect apart from where the sidewall had gone.

Its a good job it didn't blow out on the road.

A new pair of tyres will be on order for next time I need it.

I'm  going to have a look and see what I can get but the mini tyres were around 300kg each which should be more than enough for what I would want to carry in it as its only a light trailer.

I have 145/80/10 Falken Sincera tyres on my mini, they're rated at 325 kg each and max speed of 112mph... well capable for you.

The Sincera is a good tyre for the price, I got 5000 miles from the front tyres, I'd run them too hard, which worn the middle down on them.

You'll be surprised as to what the trailer can take weight wise.
