What needle should I use with this filter [clicky] because I haven't got a clue.

Its a HS4 single carb on a 998 Lump.

this is the type that i have, and always use the standard needle :P

would be interesting to know what i should be doing :genius:

well for the cone i left it as is.

for a 998 tho a cone is slightly better as the elbow joint has a bit of restriction to it, but there is less induction noise.

but you'll be ok with the stock needle just need to rich the mix a little.

I was put off the cone because I heard that without the airbox there is a good bit more noise from the carb, which I'm not gaint on loud noises, means I have to put my stereo up wich means my missus complains more ;-) and I heard that the airbox filters from K&N are almost as good as the cone/pancakes that are available.

i have a cone filter on mine and it doesnt sound any louder, it just hisses at you when ever you floor it. you just get a little better airflow.

yeah, the inducion hiss is a little much. stick some holes in the air box tho, help aid to the perfomance. just sounds nice and with no hissin sound.
