I've got a little 998 turbo mini that I built a little while ago and for the last couple I have been smoking it round as a daily. It's a little rough round the edges but as it's only a little low boost car for the most part it's been pretty reliable.
So anyway for the first time ever I decided to take part in my local classic car clubs London to Southend Run, which is a 50 mile run from east London to Southend and ends up as a classic car show, all booked a month ago for the run this Sunday. Low and behold two weeks ago my car starts huffing out blue smoke, oil dripping from the exhaust, oh dear. Took the turbo off and to no ones suprise there is a massive load of play in the shaft and it's passing oil straight into the exhaust and engine. So, ok, no problem, strip that, pay loads of money and order a new core. That comes, Saturday I put the turbo back together, was just waiting for a oil return elbow which was due today.
Anyway come out my house this morning, open the garage door, and my workmate bench that has been hanging faithfully on the wall for the last 5 years has magically fell off the wall and bounced off the OR quarter panel putting a large dent just below the window. It's then knocked over my mountain bike so the handle bars have put a big dent and scratch in the a panel and scuffed up all the drivers door. So now I have a non running car with a blown turbo and now various dents and scratches, which is meant to be taking part in a run and show on Sunday. Great...
I'm sure god is trying to tell me something.
