I have tried to search this but come up with everything but mpi instructions.
So how do you fit an engine stand plate to an mpi engine block. The usual oil filter bolt holes dont exist, so us there a common method of doing this.
I have just bought an SGS stand, i dont mind redrilling holes in the plate supplied with the stand if needed.

Thanks
Chris

Thanks PiG. I could attach the plate using the adjustable belt tensioner bracket holes (plus two holes next to the oil filter) but they are inly small bolts just a bit worried they wont be man enough for the job.

I found this but it looks like on the rhs the owner has drilled new bolt holes in the engine block as uts not attached to the 'belt adjustment bracket holes.'
Any ideas?

Been a while since I had it on the stand, couldn't quite remember exactly how I did it but here's some photos of the stand and the bolt locations.

They are M8 bolts, only 3 are in the block.  Had it with crank and pistons in but not head and gearbox yet, it's solid.  My basic calculations are that 3 no M8 are more than up to the job of holding the mini engine and gearbox.

PiG's suggestion is quite good I think.

Another approach could be to mount it 'conventionally' and pick up on the 4 peripheral bolt holes for the Transfer Housing on the Flywheel end of the Block, though depending on the adaptor you have, you may need to add some spacers in to stand the Block far enough off to clear the Tail of the Crank.

Thanks lads. I will try using the 'arms' that it came with.
I'll be honest, i didnt think the holes in the block were 8mm i still assumed they were imperial.
