I live in Los Angeles, California. There's no rain (well), snow, or freezing temperatures. My Mini is screaming for traction, and I would like to put the stickiest tyres possible on it. I doubt that I'll put enough miles on it in five years for wear to be much of a concern. Noise is a bit of a concern, but...not a big one.
So. How quickly would a Yokohama A032R lose its stickiness to the point where it's worse than the A008? These seem to be the best tires you can get in 10".
I couldn't find much hard data, so I figured I'd ask. Some say that every 20-minute street drive constitutes a heat cycle. Some say only on the highway. Some say only a track/autocross session and street driving won't do it. Some say 10 cycles. Some say 30 cycles. Some say you'll lose grip, but it'll still best a summer tire in the dry. Some say they get hard as rocks and are worthless.
What say you?
