The general consensus is it's a positive move I believe
2 questions. What's the best kit to get vs value for money? Is it a pretty simple swap?
As far as 10 inch tyres go which are the grippiest for the road? I wanted 4 spoke revolutions but I dont think they do a 5x10 so I might have to go rose petals(£!!) So 165 wide
Thanks

Once the kit is built its a bolt on kit, easy to fit.
I use 4.5 inch Cooper steel wheels from Minispares.Com, great fit but I had to use a 145 tyre due to clearance issues on the back arch tubs.
165 wide tyre use the Yokohama A008
145 wide tyre use Falken Cincera

Buy the conversion kit from Minispares Graham using their discount.
I would go for the Yokohama's as you want 165's but beware if you are going to use hi lo's. They will rub on the arch when cornering hard so some playing around with ride heights will be needed.
I have 165 Yoko's on 4.5" Cooper S rims. When we had the car loaded to the gunnels for the Kent IMM i had to be a bit wary but other than that it was fine. I should have adjusted my Hi Lo's but my cones were still settling.

I wish I could run the 165 tyres but the wheel arches are 20mm each side too narrow, even with the Cooper steel wheels from Minispares, it's a pita!

Looks good. Do you have a before picture?
What's your take on the difference in ride and road holding etc.
Moving from the 8.4 to 7.5 did you find much difference in stopping power? Are you running a servo?
I think that's the basic conversion kit- there is no need to go up the range to the more expensive ones?

Good question which i don't have an answer for Graham. They are standard S wheels and not the reverse S reverse rims. Its literally the very edge of the tyre as it transitions from the crown to the sidewall.
There is a tiny amount of play in my old radius arms which may have had some bearing on the rub as well. It did go through the MOT with no worries so it could have been down to load in the car and my spirited driving.

Rides and feels like it holds the road much better than it did on 12"s.
It's an MPi, servo is standard.
Kit worked fine for me and you've got the 7.5% discount to come on it.

4.5 x10" 'S' rims (LP883) should be ET36

I used the Minispares kit others have mentioned, with their own calipers. Swap over went ok, but remember getting the castle nut off the hub can be a pain as it's torqued up tight. Only issue I had in the end was that my tyre fitter had used the stick on balancing weights when fitting the tyres. Because they'd been positioned towards the front/centre on the inside if the rims they caught on the calipers. Thankfully there was only one wheel like this, the others fitted fine. The problem one went on the rear ok.
Was on 12 inch Revolutions. Suspension is a Minisport adjustable cone, not sure which. Car sat a bit lower when on the 12s, but had some rubbing issues due to knackered cones.
Now on 10 inch Cosmics. Same adjustable cones set to standard(ish) ride height. Tyres are Yokohama A008 in 165 width. I get something rubbing whilst going around right hand bends, but it's not tyres and it's been there on both sets of wheels. I think it's breakdrum against backplate, but can't prove it.

Can't say I noticed any deterioration in breaking power after the swap to be honest, but they never did stop on a sixpence:-)
Change was driven by a desire for a less harsh ride and I certainly achieved that, as best you can in these little cars.
