Went to get some spares from a mate today and picked up a reburbished brake servo unit. However its different to the one on my 1991. Were there 2 (or more) types produced? and are they interchangable?
Cheers

i nver noticed any difference in the servos i've seen!! i have 3 and they are from various cars and all look the same!!
only difference i noticed was on a mini 30 the brakes almost put me thru the windscreen, on a 93 sprite ther were easily managable!!

The brakes are one area where the Mini continued to evolve over its production life. My experience is with the early cars and there were brake boosters valves prior to the introduction of the servos. There were Mk1/2 servos, then Mk3 and later servos for the single line systems. Later models moved to a more traditional (non remote) mounted servo. I wish I could tell you how and if there were differences in cars as late as you're discussing. History lesson is over.

I believe all Mini models got the same tandem type Brake Servo from late 1988 right up to the end of production on 4th October 2000.
Prior to that the last Mini to get a brake servo as standard was the original pre 1974 10" wheeled Mini 1275GT, but that got a servo similar to the Mini Cooper S.
