This won’t help you get the flywheel off, but might save pain later........ the end of the main puller bolt looks a bit marred - is there something to protect the end of the crank?

 

When you replace those washers with thicker ones, use the thin ones on the wok bolts you have wound back in - 3 or 4 evenly spaced around the circle. These will catch the flywheel when it eventually springs off.

Hi. yes, there is an insert that protects the crank that camw with the kit. i guess its because of the force i applied.

I had one which was a bit 'stuck' today. I used my big thick puller, a long breaker bar, tightened it, had a cuppa, tightened it again, hit the breaker bar with a mallet, hit the bolt end with a hammer, tightened it a bit more, then hit the back face through the starter hole with a steel bar and a big hammer - off it came!

It once took me over 2 weeks to get the crank off of a 1275 MPI. In the end I used the above, plus a blow-torch and a couple of cans of plumbers 'Arctic Spray' to heat, quench and freeze, then repeat. Eventually it came off.

I do it exactly like John Guess does in the video, I use my impact wrench - they pop right off.

If you are still having  trouble removing the flywheel you will have to resort to some drastic methods. But before you do, rather than tightening the forcing screw gradually with a big bar get the biggest impact wrench and a decent socket you can beg ,borrow etc and tighten the screw using it in short bursts. The combination of the turning force and the hammer action of the wrench can sometimes shock the flywheel free. The wrench has to be a decent tool preferable one with a 3/4 inch drive. If the problem still persists then its time for the gas axe. Strip off the auxiliary components to leave a bare flywheel apply as much force as your puller allows the heat the assemble  around the boss area applying more force as you go. The heat will have a detrimental effect on the seal so that will have to be replaced.
