My previous front fog light switch stopped working a while ago, ordered a new one and it has 6 pins on the back ? my old one only had 2 (plus the 2 to illuminate the switch) I’ve not got a clue how to connect it up, any ideas?

Is it the same pattern as the original? How are the pins arranged?

Obviously all the original could do is connect both terminals, so just find 2 pins that have continuity when the switch is on and don't when it's off.

It’s this one:

As you say might have some trial and error involved!

The one Mini Spare list also has 6 pins on the back, so it sounds like your wiring is non standard. So as above fine 2 pins that are either on open or closed when the switch is in the relevant position. Also as a point of interest Mini Spares one is considerably cheaper than the one you listed. So my advice would be look on their site when you next go shopping for Mini parts and get a check price.

Those Delta switches are all basically the same, what you have there is essentially a hazard switch with a different icon. Perhaps they just  did some rationalising to reduce the number of different assemblies produced?

It'll work fine if your loom's 2 wires line up with any of the group of 4 pins.
