Removing 1.5 Roller Rockers

Im looking to improve idle and road manners. The engine has provided me with fun for quite a few years. My young son has taken a liking for weekend drives in the mini so i would like to calm things down a bit
1380
1.5 rollers
Ported head
Mini sport ca4 cam ( i believe its close to a 286 correct if im wrong)
Twin hs4
Lcb...
Is it a straight swap if i replace the 1.5 rocker with standard pressed type or 1.3 rollers? Or does it effect cam timing? Will it improve idle or lower the rev range a little to a noticeable level anyway?
I am looking at pulling the engine and changing cams in the future but i thought dumping the 1.5's is something i could do to improve things a little whist saving my pennies?
Thanks

Improve the torque in the lower end and make it a bit more drivable.

Just make sure you drain the Coolant if you swap the Rockers without doing the HG. If you dont drain it, theres a very good chance you will get water seeping where you Dont want it.

Thanks for the tip. Now the hard part. Finding a standard rocker assembly that fit big bores. Might have to cough up for 1.3 rollers. Its a shame mini spares dont do standard rocker kits. I think they sell all the bits but im not 100% sure what i need for my engine.
AC Dodd is reworking the standard ones at 1:1.3

I have just pulled my rocker shaft out without loosening the head nuts or the posts by taking out the pinch bolt and sliding the shaft out towards the clutch end. I had to slacken all the tappet adjusters and turn the engine till there was no load on any of the valves. It is a bit of a fiddle but possible and better than disturbing the head.
EDIT:
I've now realised this is not relevant to the original question because if you change the rocker ratio you have to change the posts as well. The hole centre is moved to suit the arm length.
I was taking mine out to change the push rods and cam followers.

Fitted my MED 1.3 Rockers this morning. They are superb quality, ready to go straight out the box. Set them to 0.015"- MED say 0.016".
Car drives better, idles better and its alot quieter...but i put that down to the old 1.5s being worn, they were 17yrs old !
