Hey Guys,

 

I am from Austria and I am currently in training as a foreman in mechanical engineering and automation technology. As a project work, I would like to build an engine stand with a test facility. I imagined the following: Support of the complete engine, engine block, gearbox and the cylinder head, all components can be clamped and rotated separately. It should be possible to start the motor on the stand, to let it run, for example to cure the paint after painting. Furthermore, values such as oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, exhaust temperature, lambda value, engine speed, ... are taken and recorded. A fuel tank with an electric fuel pump is attached to the system, as well as an electric accelerator pedal position so that speed ranges can be selected.

Now the question:

Has someone of you something similar?
Has somebody a STEP File from an A or A+ Engine?

That can be made easily with some right angle steel and box section. Iirc a couple of members have made bench testing stands.

The throttle cable linkage (if running carburettor) can be adapted as there are multiple holes in the linkage.


You can also fit the exhaust, possibly make some device to add load to the motor so you can set up the fuel and timing.

its very easy to build one, much easier to start with the engine and decide how you want to mount it. you can use the standard mounts or make custom ones. someone must have a step file of the a series i would have a look online for one.
