Hi there - i went ahead and purchased a set of these door pocket/pods recently and during test fitting have noticed an issue: namely I cannot roll down my windows without scraping and cutting my knuckles on the edge of the pocket. Has anyone faced this? Are there shorter window winders that alleviate this or other solution? Any tips on how to best position/install these?

I've had these door pocket/pods on mine for ten years but, initially, had forgotten this happening.

I changed my technique, holding the winder knob between my fingers and thumb and haven't thought about it in years.

Same here, I installed mine in January plus I changed the knobs for "cooper style" ones

I have the ABS version from Boltonbits bought via ebay: https://www.ebay.co....VIAAOSwkARd2YJL
Strange that the ABS Motorsport version is stated as being made from fibreglass! Mine came with a nice chrome trim for the top edge.

Same issue though but after you've caught your knuckles a few times you remember to be careful!

Ditto, just fitted a set.  I'm considering one, or maybe both of the following foe my bolton bits ones;  a piece of 'chrome' trim to remove the sharp edge, or a set of winders from the variants that had a smaller knob.  My Elf for example has a much smaller know on the winder as per link, so planning on trying that.

I really like  my new pockets though, tidy install. The one comment I'd have is that it would be good if the pod section of it was stepped back by 8-10mm so that a speaker grill sat flush with the front face of the pocket, just saves a bit of important space and reduces the risk of kicking the speaker whilst getting out.

Bolt on bits has one with chrome trim, although I don't know if it will solve the issue:

Seriously looking at these as well, although fitment of Metro door/speaker pockets is also an option;

I went with a set of pockets from a MK1 Metro.  Fits perfectly into the pressure dents on the door card, even the mounting screw holes line up!!

on the downside, your limited to a small speaker but it does keep an OEM look.

Thanks for all the replies folks.. I have yet to install the pockets but will be aiming to do it in time. Shorter winders would be ideal, but if not, I may cut down the pocket a little bit to gain even half an inch, and put a chrome rubber/plastic piece to avoid cuts on the edge.
