Try this, make sure there is slack in the accelerator cable. Loosen off the throttle screw, retighten the throttle screw so that it is touching the lever and very slightly opening the throttle, a tiny amount.

What will this do ?

It will set the iacv to arou'd where it needs to be. It won't be spot on, unless you are very lucky, but it will tell you if this is where you problem is.
Just remember, the throttle screw on these car does not set the idle speed, it sets the iacv valve. The ecu sets the idle speed.
So slack throttle cable, screw out then back in until it just moves the lever a tiny amount.

Right I’ll try that then thanks for the advice appreciate it.
It seems to run ok now apart from the slight delay In revs dropping, I’ll see how much these machines are, I purchased a Sykes picavent ACR4 one the other week but it would not connect to my car for some reason so Went back I’m reluctant to buy another if I’m honest but may have to

Hi I’ve reset the IACV today and it’s a little better did as
Pete I Recommended revs do stick a little and it ticks over abit too high just over 1000 rpm it does eventually drop a little to 1000 rpm after a while,
am I definitely going to have to plug this in and set the steps ????

Thank you

Leicestershire ?  That's right next door to MG Rover land. There must be loads of garages with a T4 up there.

What is it you expect the T4 to do that your ACR cannot do?

If there is a communication issue with the ACR, then most likely there would be an issue with the T4.

Test the ACR on another car to make sure it is not the problem.

Yes Leicestershire mate problem is the car isn’t drivable or legal so would need someone to lend or come to me which at the moment isn’t really an option with the world the way it is.
