You are making some great progress. Interested to see the temperatures with the homemade water/meth set up. I am thinking of going no intercooler on my turbo D series Honda project.

Can I ask where you bought the ceramic paint from and what you think of it?

The paint is VHT flame proof / ceramic. I have attached a link. I used VHT primer and matt white. Very nice paint to spray, good coverage. Its a long process to cure as recommended but the paint does seem to be very hard. If you hit it with a spanner it chips like a ceramic surface should. Hopefully it does not burn off in 2 mins and keeps a little heat in. Im happy with it so far.

The water cooling should give good results based on what I have read on other setups. Hope to get the gearbox completed next week and join the 2 parts together. Then move on to making the T2 fit and then finally the body work..

Bit more build work

Rebuilt rocker set with new shaft, washers, springs, shim / spacers to centre better on valve tip. Fitted new head gasket, set valve clearance and plug gap. Bolted gearbox to the block. Drilled and tapped the 998 transfer cover to allow fitting of a breather. Then offered up the casing to the engine -- found that the transfer case has to be modified to allowing fitting when dry deck is used. Had to cut the top section of the transfer case to allow fitting. Then modified the breather to still fit. Not finished yet but nearly done

Great write up so far and I can't wait to see this finished, although I'm sure you're due an update as I've seen pictures of it more progressed than this!  ^_^

Paul.

Engine now complete, just a few minor things that can wait. Found some more issues on the final build -

I chose to fit a breather to the transfer casing, then found the casing fowled the dry deck fitting connected on the block, so i modified the transfer housing and breather. Then I found the hose would not fit past the breather and the top engine steady bracket would not fit due to the dry deck outlet on the block. Finally after some grinder work it all fits.

Moved on to fit the T3 unit. Only to ensure when I make the new air intake it will fit the 998 and 1310 without issues. Plus it was easier as I have not finished the mounting plate for the T2. Found the oil return is too low so it would need a new outlet to be used.

Now packed away with the other engine ready for the body work to be started
