Hi guys,
My insurance company have asked me for my chassis and engine numbers, i've got the plate on the inner wing for the chassis, but cant find the one for the engine. If its the original engine, will it have the same number?
Cheers,
Tom

the number is also stamped onto the guttering form the bonnet. Pop the bonnet and i think its near the carb in the guttering. Just check all the way round.

well i theory it should be no different from those on the V5C...
Your engine number should be on the flat bit above the alternator on the block.
If it's not then just give them the chassis (VIN) number as say there is no engine number...

they may inquire as to why it has no engine number, but there's nothing illegal about that, most engines which have either been rebored or skimmed have the engine number taken off
