Hi,

I've just gone to open my bonnet and the release seems to be stuck. I can put my hand in and see that it's not the catch, it's the actual release bit that goes into the slam plate.

Any ideas how I can get it open?

Cheers,

Lloyd

When I was adjusting mine the other day it wouldn't open a number of times so I slipped an open ended spanner in and undid the 2 bolts a bit and fiddled about until the bonnet came open.
They're a bugger if they're not lined up properly

Try pushing down on the front of the bonnet as you operate the lever.

Ok I got it. I put my hand through the grill and unscrewed the bonnet lock pin.

After the bonnet popped open I can see the problem. The slam plate/guide isn't straight (all bent up, not aligned and rusted) and one of the bolts to on the bonnet hinge has come loose.

One day I might get around to adjusting my bonnet, it currently gets stuck after releasing slightly from the lever. Takes a bit of push me/pull me before it will unlatch. I like to pretend it is a little anti-tamper...

Yeah - I've decided to take my bonnet off and sort it all out properly.

Can someone send me a picture of their guide plate? I want to see how it is meant to fit.

Cheers,

Lloyd
