I have recently bought some bonnet buffers 14G6856 from Somerford Mini. The rubber is so hard, they are almost impossible to fit into the holes on the slam panel.

Has anyone else had this problem?

How did you get over it?

yep - i struggled to get them to fit

i resorted to using a junior hacksaw blade to carefully abrade away some of the material around the 'stem' so i could get it to fit.

Does they get softer enough if you drop them for 15 minutes in water that has just boiled (but is ot longer boiling)?

I tried heating them with a hot air gun, but they didn’t soften any. They were then a bit too hot for my fingers!

Glad you sorted it.
It's one of those jobs that should only take a couple of minutes but end up taking a good couple of hours ?
