Hello you guys. Ive got that carried away with what i want to do with the mini ive gone out and brought myself a little metro to run to the ground through the winter so i can keep mini for best

One of my profects was going to put a Astra GTE Digital dashboard in there. What do you guys think?

Ive managed to figure the majority of wiring out but what are your thoughts on how i will get the speedo to work
Any suggestions?

From what ive read i think the gearbox vss can modified (or possibly the gearbox) to fit into the mini gearbox.
But also because of the difference in the gearing and wheel size you will have to get it adjusted to give the correct reading,
and from what ive read www.speedycables.co.uk can do it, for something like £90.
That or you can get vss signal adjusters so that the signal going into the dials is correct (dont know if that is all that speedycables will do).

Ive just been reading your post whilst you was replying to mine. Your doing such a good job. i really admire how far you hae got with your car. its coming on realy well

Hmmm.....so, ive got a Metro Tubby engine going in. Will i be able to do this still or should i just give them people a bell?

Yeah, ive read about getting the dials calibrated or something like that. Ive spoke to a few companies and they have all got scared and done a runner lol

P.S - i dont like reading your post as it makes me want to spend lots of money on my mini and do all the work myself lol this bloody site has given me the bug

Yeah Olive is mine,

Having the turbo engine wont change a thing as the speedo take off is the same,
Also because it seems speedycables have done it before it might be worth asking them if they know how to get the Vss to connect with the gearbox?
Maybe they make an adapter or they might modify the sensor or gearbox take off.
