Hi Guys,

Help! I can't get the Rear lights to work with the Headlights. So...
As a group, Rear Lights and Numberplate Light;
Work when - Sidelights are on switched on
Don't work when - Chnage from Sidelights to main lights.

I've checked fuse 4 under the bonnet and it's fine, then thought, if the lights are working when the sidelights are on they can't be fused. Any advice?

Sounds like a switch issue

When you move to pos 2,  pos 1 should stay connected but it might be knackered inside so you lose pos 1

as above - are you in fact losing all the sidelight circuits ( including dashboard/instrument lighting), not just the rear ?

I had exactly the same issue, it was a badly corroded fuse box. Wiggle the brown wires on the left of the fusebox see if it works.
I replaced the fusebox and all is working again.

Message from the OP is that a new switch cured the issue, however now has starting problems.

The OP is a local to me owner.

Just thought I'd post up to close the thread.
