A damp proof course and adequate ventilation are also important considerations. If you propose to use a dehumidifier an airtight structure is fine, but otherwise ventilation and air movement reduces condensation. You can have the best engineered garage but if you have moisture rising through the floor i.e. no dpc it'll attack the bodywork.

V.good point on the damp course, they're not just for brick walls. It wouldn't be a bad idea do smething to protect the bottom 6 inches or so from rain splash either - or lay a course of blocks etc to raise it above ground level if needed.

Well to add my tuppence worth,
Just done a self build bungalow, have a big site and always wanted a big garage / workshop / man cave.
Traditional building would have been a fortune so went for a 12m x 8m steel framed garage from this company:
http://www.h2shedsltd.co.uk/

It has a damp proof membrane under a 6" reinforced concrete base, fully galvanised steel frame and it has a moisture barrier on the roof material to help prevent condensation and there seems to be plenty of air flow. I've got a toilet and sink in one corner, bought a set of leather seats from a BMW from which I will make a sofa / chairs and a pool table planned for another corner.
Along with a 2 post lift I reckon I'll have room for 4 cars easily. If it was purely for storage only I reckon 9 minis would fit!

Very pleased with the finished result, just need to get the remainder of the building supplies and the house roofspace junk cleared out of it now.

Its early days and I know it will be a cold place in winter but size versus cost I'm really pleased with it.

Hello Surfblue what is the height of your shed?
Thanks,
Mark.

Its 3 metres at the eaves, 4.4 metres at the ridge. Roller door is 3 x 3 metres. Big enough to let the caravan in if I ever need to do anything to it that needs cover.
