As you can probably tell from my user name (which I've used since I was a young-un) I love Mini's! Grew up tinkering on my dad's with him, where I found my obsession with fixing things. Sadly my dad fell on hard times, so was forced to sell his when I was 16, just as I was about to get it as my first car!
20 years later, I've finally bought my own. It's a 1984 998cc Mayfair (same age as me) and was heavily restored by the previous owner 5 years ago. Unfortunately he didn't do the best of jobs with the respray and rust protection in some areas, so there's a few small spots of bubbling started in the usual place. He's replaced most of the floor, front wings, sills, the usual stuff, but I'm planning to strip it down fully again and do a proper job on it.
I'm sure I'll be on here many times in the coming months/years searching out along for advice.
