Hello to you all! Im will and from the UK. I fell in love with the mini at a young age so bought a racing flame at age 13 and am looking for some advice about it's engine.

So the mini came with a 998 but I quite by accident got my hands on a 1300 metro with 40k miles. From what I've read I think I might have struck gold in the engine department and now want to do an engine swap however future proofing the block is my first step. Now I intend on keeping the mini for a very long time so I'm not shying away from making the block as bullet proof as possible so I never need worry about future mods (hoping to keep it n/a but never say never). I have a list of what I want to do:

Clean up the journals, lighten, balance and superfinish the crank
Fit the 4 bolt main kit by MED Engineering and line bore
Shot peen the con rods (I think they're drop forged as standard) and fit ARP bolts
Bore to 1293 and fit forged pistons
Increase the compression
Fit 3 angle valves
Skim the block and the head
Convert to 11 bolt head.

If anyone knows what kind of power this engine would be safe to tune to, or if there are any other mods to make it more bullet proof then I'd love to here it!
