I need some body shell work doing - and have see the mini restoration company on the internet

Does anyone have any experiences with having bodywork / welding done by these guys?

Or can recommend anywhere else in the NW of the country?

Thanks

They do a good job, but have quite a waiting list.

As above, plus advised me recently they're only taking on full restorations. Very good at what they do. Depends what you have in mind.

I was told the same when I asked about having some welding and general work done.

An alternative is speak to Jim at R.A.C.E, a little further away near Chorley (Withnell Fold) but likewise he's a Mini specialist: https://m.facebook.c...54714871865811/

Jason and the guys are currently working on my Elf shell, or rather they've finished and we're waiting on the paint shop. Can't fault the guys at all to date, they've done some major surgery and the work has been top notch.  Jason will keep you as informed as you want to be about progress and costs; I wanted to know and sign off everything, others apparently just let them get on with it!  I've been getting regular calls and emails full of progress pics, and living not far away I've always been encouraged to drop in and check on progress.

They're pretty busy at the moment, but they are still accepting new projects I believe. As has been said they are full restoration people rather than ongoing repairs. For me they've just done my shell bodywork and paint.

I've also used Jim Brindle at RACE for my engine build, in fact we took delivery yesterday and again very satisfied.Jim does all engine builds for Jason, so that was good enough for me.  Jim knows his stuff and much like Jason has been really easy to deal with.  Obviously, I can't comment on how my new engine goes, but I have every faith that it'll be spot on. Cost wise I was surprised at how reasonable Jim was compared to other prices I've seen quoted online.   If you get a chance to visit Jim's workshop it's worth a trip, always interesting stuff in, just don't judge it by current main dealer 'operating theatre' standards:-)

Leaving storage back in January 2019. Car's been ready for prep and paint since Jan 2020 but paint shop waiting lists and the covid think means it didn't get into paint until last week..
