Hi All

In the progress of building up a spare subframe with all the suspension components. I have removed the upper arms from the car and see that there are repair kits sold for them? My questions is how do I establish if I need to repair them, or should it simply be a case of getting the kit and fitting as a matter of procedure since the arms are removed. I obviously don't want to be forking out money for the kits if It is not required.

Thanks in advance

Matt

Have a look at the axle and feel for play.

Pull the pin out and see if it's worn. When I removed mine the pins were rusty and has indentations/wear from needle rollers which hadn't been rolling.. if you pull the pins out and they have nice clean grease and they turn smoothly with no play then you should be fine.

If buying a new kit, check the bearings that are supplied with it, there's some cruddy ones getting about, usually marked KOR.

I've got some kits in stock for my car, I'll check them out. What is wrong with the bearings out of interest?

Cheers
