I heard of this Challenge last year, when they tried it and one of our crew met these guys and also had a drive of their Buggy.

 

They recently released this 'doco' of the World Record Attempt. It's a little long winded, some of it is in German (but with subtitles), I gotta say, I enjoyed it and also hear their observations of our Country, in particular, our Outback with the Buggy Crew having come 'fresh off the boat'.
