Evening everyone, I'm just intrigued as to how the verto locktab actually works. I'm presuming the tabs are knocked into the slots in the keyed washer that sits behind the flywheel bolt. But how does that exactly prevent the bolt from loosening? Unlike the ball joints lock tab that fits around the points of the nut, it doesn't appear to actually make contact with the bolt. Thanks in advance, Luke

When you've torqued the bolt up the tab is bent outwards (I use a blunt masonry chisel for this) into the slot in the centre boss just to keep everything locked in.

The lock tab is spot welded to the flywheel bolt.
