hi all,been a while,i have just fitted a hif38 carb on alloy inlet to my 998,it has 3 branch manifold with rc40 exhaust,electronic ignition.
What would be the best needle for this set up on normal road use.cheers all.

ADP was Standard on a 998cc Metro with a HIF38.
(I spent some time trawling the web and reading manuals for needle info for a classic car club where we also have a-series engines and have similar questions as people swap out engines and parts to make the cars more reliable, etc)

The needle profile to make you engine run well is determined by measuring the exhaust gas content, then selecting the appropriate needle to change the fueling to suit your application. Most times, the needle also needs polishing to Optimise the fueling right across the rev range.

As a starring point fit an AAE needle with a new red spring.
