Flywheel Bolt Too Short - Arrgh.

Hello,  rebuilding an A+ pre-verto from a box of assorted bits (un)kindly provided by the PO.

 

Thought I was getting somewhere, thanks to your help here - shout out to nicklouse and spider by the way...

 

Anyways, ive put the clutch / flywheel / friction plate in, lined it all up, put the keyway, washer and flywheel bolt in and it only just "catches" on the threads.  I took everything out, realligned it all, put it back, same issue.  Head scratching..  

 

Ive come to the conclusion my bolt is too short!   The total thread length is only about 3/4" (or only about 8 or 9 threads).  Checking out somerford or minispares catalogue (the actual length of the bolt isnt given), but from the photos it looks like there should be 15 or so threads - so it obviously goes into / grabs more in the tail.

 

Seem odd to anyone?  Or were the original factory ones just this short...

That's the wrong bolt. That's the bottom pulley bolt.

Doh! Don't I feel stupid.

...and really odd as there are 2 of those bolts in the box of bits.

In my defence, I haven't done the other end, I assumed it's the same bolt each end.

The bolt you've shown there is the opposite end of the crank, for the bottom pulley.
The minispares link I put in my first post is the flywheel bolt you require.
