That's nuts !
They used to do something similar at Buxton raceway during the banger racing meets, back in the 90's,1 car at a time timed over 1 lap. You'd get all sorts having a go in their road cars,RS Turbos etc, some were clearly out of their depths and went off into the barriers.
A long way home from Buxton in a smashed car lol

Ah "the good old days"!  Could you imagine that happening these days? no insurance, no safety gear, no roofs!  Crazy watching the guy in the mustang hooning around with the top down dressed as if he's going down the shops.

Indeedy, "These drivers are not insured....it's their funeral" is on a par with "Is this available on Betamax?" for phrases you don't hear often now.

I guess we were less precious in the the 70s  - we used to do pushbike jumping trying to vaguely emulate Evil Knievel (push bike helmets not invented then of course) - my knees and elbows have never had normal skin on them since then.

Another game of the time -  jumping off second floor scaffolding into sand piles (when it was the law that under 14s must play on building sites)  OK until you "found" a buried brick.

I shot my mate in the leg with a bow and (proper target) arrow - someone pointed out that it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't actually been aiming it at him at the time (he was unlucky and hiding behind a shed but his leg stuck out just as I let fly)

Someone then went and invented that newfangled "Health and Safety" thing.....
