LOL, I thought I had been infiltrated by some malware. Thanks for letting us know.

Yes it will be the same for all members.
We have been targeted by a Russian IP address trying to access the Forum, so over and above our usual spammers which we deal with as soon as we can.
There is a piece of software running in the background which Deathrow has initiated to prevent the Forum from being infiltrated.
Until such time as this malicious attack has been stopped then you will see these messages pop up. Don’t be alarmed or concerned.
Many thanks, both to Sonikk4 and Deathrow, for protecting our Forum.

This is all very much down to Deathrow as he is the IT guru, we do our daily bit keeping other spammers at bay as much as we can do. Without Adam’s IT capabilities we would have been awash with something nasty.

I noticed the forum being incredibly slow myself late yesterday afternoon which is when I noticed a single IP address was making a lot of requests that the forum was logging as erroneous. After taking a quick look at the logs it was clear that the IP address in question was performing an automated vulnerability scan. I didn't think it was likely to get anywhere however it was going on for an extended period and all the while the forum was basically at a standstill.
Don't give me too much credit though, the service providing the protection is called Cloudflare and they provide the protection at no cost for small websites and communities like ours. It was enough to make whoever was performing the scan become disinterested as the effort involved to continue scanning was probably higher than the reward they were expecting from getting in.
Just another day on the Wild Wild Web.

Adam
we are in your debt as always. Even if it is part of a free service you still need to know what it is and how to set it up for our forum.
We appreciate your skill.
Thank you!
Derek
