Minivation Hinge Version?

Got a lead on a Minivation articulating hinge kit...looks to be older. Any reason not to go for it? Here's a pic:

No idea on the version. But Ben is looking to put them back into production.

I appreciate how they work giving better access to the engine. A friend has them.

But......how many times do you actually need that much access and for my 78 Van it's only a case of undoing 4 nuts from existing hinges to fully remove the bonnet.

From what I can see a solution to not a very big problem...!!

Id have a pair price dependant.

Would make access so much more pleasant even for simple little jobs.

I have the sliding ones,work well and only about £15 a set delivered

I’ve got this version, and I can’t get the bonnet height right at the back, and I think with a strong gust of wind the bonnet corner would hit the wing and mark it.

Yes.Once you've adjusted them properly they're great

Watched a youtube video fitting a later type with struts to a mk1.

 

 

 

Presenter stated there are different types for different mk minis as the fitting points change. Not sure that's accurate.
Anyhow, the set I was watching got sold before I could offer. Hope a new production starts up one day.

 

Note: The owner in the video above later switched to hood pins b/c of stress damage on his bonnet from the hinges:
