I still think I would swap the mini for the e-type.
(Prepares for howls of complaints and derision)

Then sell the E type and buy 5 minis with a heated lock up

Indeed, the E-type is a massivly overated car that in my eyes is really ugly with its hugely inset wheels, horrific rear lights on the series 2 and massivly bloated series 3.  Still a lot of people seem to like them!

Do people like them?or do they like the status they infer?Parts of them are ok in my view but even should I be able to afford one I would keep my selection of dross(mini,TR7,MGBGT,MGBV8roadster and Austin Healey sprite),Steve..

A good friend of mine who, previously, had an E-Type described it as "an upholstered roller-skate".

He replaced it with a DB4, which he's been driving for the past forty-five years.

Having driven both, I tend to agree.

The TR7 one of the biggest failures of all time in the car manufacturing world, it didn't even look that good. Agreed marginally better than the wheels on the electric Bini pictured in another topic on this forum.

Can't argue with that and kudos for being proud of your cars.

I went shopping with the missus a few years ago in the Mini, parked up and got out - as you do - to overhear some old bloke saying to his wife "look at that old banger" to which a passing fella must have heard him say it, turned to the bloke and say "that old banger is probably worth more in money and to the driver than your sh!theap of a Mondeo will ever be, you don't see any of these in scrapyards"....

I just smiles and walked away with a smug grin on my face the entire time we was walking round...

Out in the Moop on Sunday and we were sitting at a set of traffic lights in a filter line to turn right.

A Bini passed slowly on the nearside with the windows open, a shout of a great car we love it come from it and a load of thumbs up.

Broad smiles on my and my daughter's faces that matched or even beat those of the occupants of the Bini.
